I think a good part of that will be lacking experience with the class and locked skills...
While im the first to agree that a big part of the GW players is dumb as bread even the best player cant make a killing/casting machine out of a few skills with a class he never played with.

why are assassins new warriors, 1 on 1 warriors completely destroy them 90% of the time, but assassins have some real nice combos for weaker AL units

I blame the class as much (or more) as the people playing it. None of the ones I've come across have been much of a threat.

The new classes have been available for a few hours, many players are still at work/school, and very few people have more than a few skills for them unlocked. And you're annoyed that people aren't already publically recruiting for them in their Tombs builds? Good grief. Try having just a little more patience...

In refrence to the free faciton from PvNPC, you only get it for the first 5 trial battles, and the first 20 or so elite, after that you won't ever get anymore.

Change is good, but most of the time change is not wellcomed at all.
Anyway - I like factions so far, a little tweaking and it will be very cool expansion. Don't forget we still have not seen the faction territory wars.

Quoted for truth. I mean honestly, folks: do you expect people to be really good at a class the first time they try it? How did you do with your first PvP build *EVER* in a new class?
And on a funny note, last night in RANDOM ARENA I might add:

Firstly the pvp "training" thing is very good. It not only warms previous PvE to PvP but it also helps people wo are trying out factions without any previous experience of GW. Getting faction from it is irrelevant as IWAY builds give free faction. I think, Qual, that you're insecure about newer players coming along and loving factions and eventually become really good at PvP. As for anyone worried about the amunt of content in factions it was stated by Anet that it will be about double the size of the core game.

i think you are an elitest insecure jerk.
lets make it as hard on the n00bs as posible and keep them out.
as i have said before the very worst advertisement for pvp newbies are the *so called* elite pvp players who will not cut a newcomer one inch of slack

Actually I think of the assasin as a ranger with melee protection and skills.

RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you, if I bought a game, I expect to play what is available to me.
Doesn't anyone else find it stupid that after so many months, the gameplay is still the same, even with the expansion out?

True, but surely people are at least getting the hang of it by now? It's really not that hard to learn a new class. I've yet to see a single assasin that isn't just an easy kill.

I like playing PvE, never got into PvP. Tried a couple of training arenas and found the gameplay lackluster for me. I enjoy the exploration of the environment, finding neet stuff and the sense of accomplishment I get from PvE. All I got from PvP was a lot of frustration.
This new area does make it easier for me to get a grip on the PvP gameplay. I still am not interested in that aspect as much, however it might be fun to experiment with.
It seems that the biggest problem with PvP, for me, is that I do not belong to a large guild with regular players. So I end up going it alone a lot, joining pickup groups and, as of late, farming. PvP requires alot more cohesion within the group, which is almost always lacking in pick-up groups.
Regarding the new update, I like the new front end and other graphics updates. Still not sold on PvP. Disappointed about lack of apperant content for PvE enthusiasts. Hopeful that this preview is a very small part of a larger and more robust Chapter 2.

I tried a bit of the training stuff, agree with the poster above. Got some faction I'll never use. However I can see the point of the different aspects of the training. It's just not for me to be honest. It's great for the people who want to have a go at pvp though. Sorry I tend to fall asleep whenever anyone mentions SS or IWA......zzzzzzzzz

I like Factions so far... haven't tried everything yet, and I didn't even know the new profs. were available.
I really like how, for the most part, Anet cleaned up the graphics and made everything look a little clearer and more substantial. The whole game just looks better. One small detail seems to flow against this. The little arrows telling you whether something is an enchantment or hex...great to help new players get the feel of it, but I feel it cheapens the look and goes against an otherwise drastically improved appearance (an appearance which was already quite great). Hopefully it will make new players better, faster and then Anet can drop it...

The expansion isn't out. Those of us who aren't living in your delusional little world understand that this is just a preview, a chance for us to play part of the forthcoming expansion.

The biggest reason is the A/W build sucks, that more than anything else will turn off new players. Dieing a lot takes the fun out of any game. The assasin or ritual in a pre sear PvE enviorment would be a better add than the current PvP.
IMO the assasin is for more advanced players, to use the skill chain you have to be used to the combat style.
First off the assasin has the same armor rating as a ranger. So playing as a ranger, I do everything I can to kill before they get to me, I trap, I pin down, I interupt, so that by the time they do get to me a few hits and they are out. For me the assasin jumps in, hits, and jumps out, so I would play like that. Jump in when the target is down or jump past the fight to the caster. A/R savage shot, jump in for the slice and dice. Repeat. I haven't had a lot of time to play the assasin, so this is all in theory.
I would preffer an A/R build, although jumping to a better position for a R/A build would be good.
